The project is located in a central area of Porto and aims to address the current housing crisis in the country by building affordable housing for the local community. The 60–apartment unit features a highly efficient plan, with minimal circulation and the most surface area dedicated to the living quarters. “Addressing the current housing crisis in the country by building affordable housing for the local community.” With generous balconies for each unit, the building unit promotes external areas of enjoyment, solar protection, and improved thermal comfort. These outdoor spaces will not only provide a comfortable space for residents to relax and socialise but also help to reduce energy consumption by providing shade and reducing heat gain in the summer. The design prioritises its residents' well–being, maximising living space and natural light. The apartments will be bright and airy, with large windows that allow plenty of natural light to flood the interior. This will create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, promoting the mental and physical well–being of the residents. The residential block's efficient plan and sustainable features will also help to minimise energy consumption and environmental impact, making it a positive contribution to the local community and the environment.
